From DJ to Digital Innovator
Hey there, my name is Phillip but my friends, they call me 'Felix.' I am from the beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah, and I'm a proud father of three amazing kids. My journey through life has been a fascinating blend of music, technology, and entrepreneurship.
My love affair with technology and software has been a constant in my life. From a young age, I was drawn to the world of code and digital innovation. But before I fully immersed myself in the tech world, I embarked on a thrilling adventure as an international DJ. Going by the moniker 'djphillipthomas,' I had the opportunity to make music come alive in various parts of the world.
Between the ages of 18 and 25, I found myself jetting off to London once a year, where I played at renowned festivals and iconic clubs. Back home I held multiple residencies and even had the privilege of playing shows in Las Vegas. During my time as a DJ, I collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music industry, and in 2015, I earned the title of Arizona's favorite DJ, as recognized by AZ Foothills Magazine.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend my passions. While I was playing in front of enthusiastic crowds, I was also honing my skills in producing music using Logic Pro and crafting my own JavaScript functions to enhance my performances.
Life has a way of steering us in unexpected directions, and in 2013, I had my daughter and decided to pivot away from the music scene to focus on being a good father and husband. I decided to explore the entrepreneurial side of things. I started not one but two companies, each a testament to my dedication and drive. The world of business presented new challenges and opportunities, and I embraced them with the same enthusiasm that defined my music career.
Then came the pandemic, as the world around us underwent significant changes, I decided to embark on new creative endeavors. Seeking a way to pass the time and maintain my sanity, I ventured into the world of content creation on YouTube. Little did I know that this journey would lead to a significant milestone—I achieved YouTube Partner status.
Creating content on YouTube allowed me to share my insights, passions, and expertise with a global audience. Drawing from my experiences in both the music industry and the tech world, I connected with viewers from all walks of life. It was a way for me to stay engaged with the world, inspire others, and keep my own creative flame burning brightly.
As I delved deeper into the world of YouTube, I realized the potential it held for individuals looking to establish their digital presence and brand. My journey from a DJ to a content creator equipped me with valuable skills in self-promotion and marketing. These skills formed the foundation for my latest venture.
In the midst of my YouTube journey, I found my passion for developmet and started trading video games for development projects and online classes.
I was hooked on learning and was thankful that people took the time to share what took them years to achive just to save somone else time and struggle. It was at this point I decided to pen a book titled '10 Steps to Dominate the Digital Arena.' This book was born out of that desire to help others harness the power of YouTube and effectively market themselves in the digital landscape. The book is aimed at content creation but its principles of building a thriving online presence, cultivating a dedicated audience, and achieving recognition in the digital realm. will work in any venture. I was drawing from my personal experiences and the strategies that propelled me to success in the music industry, I crafted a guide that empowers individuals to make their mark on the platform.
Here we are in 2023, where I proudly present my latest achievement: the release of my first open-source project, 'Linkupqr.com' This project represents the culmination of my experiences, combining my networking skills, technological expertise, and entrepreneurial spirit.
My journey continues to evolve, but the constants in my life remain my love for my family, my dedication to technology and software, and my unwavering passion for innovation.
